Oh my.

Imagine the scene. Your most bitter rivals are about to win the league title at a canter because your team made some horrendous recruitment decisions in the summer and stuck with a manager that threw his players under a bus before the transfer window had time to shut.

You have a decision to make. You can either address your own side’s inadequacies and reflect on where everything started to go wrong and what could have been done or, you can accuse your rivals of doping.

Yes, you read that right, “The Celtic Blog”, after 6500 words of nothing relevant to Scottish football, and in particular Rangers, went off on one of the most bizarre cries for help you will ever see in which he alleges – but doesn’t allege, just to make that clear – that there is a culture of doping/drinking too much coffee at the Auchenhowie training centre.

His evidence? James Tavernier and Connor Goldson aren’t very good and yet Rangers defensive record is incredible, so they must be doping. Steven Davis is the same age as Scott Brown but is a better player, so he must be doping, oh, and Jermain Defoe and Allan McGregor are really old, so they must be doping.

Ok, I’ll bite. Let’s just do a quick comparison. Steven Davis has never been photographed slumped against a wall just days before a cup final eating a king rib supper. Jermain Defoe has never reported for training overweight or been the centre of several club investigations due to behaviour or been seen “collecting a kebab” still wearing club training kit – as for Brown and Griffiths, well…

I tell you something, he put an awful lot of work into something just to get a few clicks, unless of course, he actually believes it. Always cheated, never defeated, never change. As Craig Levein once said – “natural order has been restored“.
