Rangers fans are keen on signing Craig Halkett after watching him in action for Livingston against Steven Gerrard’s side at the weekend.

Halkett has been a key part of the Livi defence that have the fourth best defensive record in the entire Scottish Premiership, surprising pundits with their consistency after promotion.

A former Rangers youth player, his contract is up at the end of the season meaning he would be an excellent bargain buy this January, or available on a pre-contract.

Still just 23 years of age, captaining Livingston, he has plenty of future potential too and some fans feel he has the defensive attributes that could make him a big success at Ibrox.

With Joe Worrall returning to Nottingham Forest on loan at the end of the season, is Halkett a viable budget replacement?

If we want him, we’ll have to move soon, with his expiring contract likely to be attracting other clubs too.

These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the player after his Sunday display…
