Rangers have today confirmed that we will travel to the iPro Stadium to face Derby County in our pre season schedule.

Derby are managed by former England manager Steve McClaren and they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season, having lost the Championship Play Off Final at Wembley, one nil, to Queens Park Rangers.

We make the trip to Derby on Saturday August 2nd, and the game will kick off at 1pm and the match will come a week before we kick off the SPFL Championship campaign.

Speaking briefly following the announcement of this game, manager Ally McCoist said.

‘It’s a great game for us. Derby County were very unlucky not to clinch promotion to England’s top flight last season so they will certainly give our boys a tough test.’

Rangers will have played six pre season games before this trip, so we should be in top condition and hopefully already have started playing ourselves into some good form ahead of what will be a strong test for us as we look to step up again in 2014-15.
