Daniel Candeias has signed for one of his former clubs, Alanyaspor, following the relegation of Genclerbirligi.

His latest switch means that the Portuguese player will remain in the Turkish Super Lig, with the Antalya based club – who finished a very credible seventh in the season just finished.

Prior to his move to Rangers, in season 2016/17, he made 29 appearances with a return of four goals for Alanyaspor.

Now aged 33, this looks like a decent move for a player whose work rate and endeavour was appreciated by the Rangers support.

In his time in Glasgow, Candeias – a Pedro Caixinha signing – made 70 appearances scoring 11 goals, including a notable strike away to Spartak Moscow – that crazy 3-4 game.

In the Summer of 2019, Steven Gerrard wanted the player to stay on to contribute to his squad but he chose to go to Turkey were he would be a first choice pick.

On this latest venture, best wishes to Daniel Candeias.
