Darren Cole has admitted he knows the pressure is on to prove himself at Rangers and he’s very pleased that he’s been given the chance to do so.

The defender penned a fresh 12 month deal at the club recently and he knows he’ll be in the squads for the Northern tour, but he pointed towards Kane Hemmings who has left the club as proof that he needs to step up the plate and perform, regardless of perceived talent.

Speaking to the Official Site the 21 year old explained.

‘Getting another year was a good thing for me and it’s good the gaffer has given me a chance. Looking at Kane moving on, I was gutted and upset because we stayed in a flat together for a year and we are close. He had played more games than me but was told he was being let go yet I got a contract and that was brilliant for me.’

Cole knows now that he has to take the chance he’s been given and prove he deserves to stay at the club and he has to do that by impressing on the training ground and taking every first team chance he can possibly get.
