Ally McCoist has talked about the importance of our Northern tour and the chance it provides for the team to really bond ahead of the new season.

Six of our seven new signings have travelled with the squad as part of the 23 man squad that will face Brora and Elgin, as only Arnold Peralta is missing as he has extra time off following his international commitments.

Dean Shiels, Chris Hegarty and Barrie McKay will stay at Murray Park as they continue their rehab from injury.

Speaking to the Official Site the manager said.

‘Hopefully the squad we take can do well and it’s really important to be taking the boys away for a few days, we’re looking forward to it.’

McCoist says that Rangers are extremely lucky to have some of the best facilities available at Murray Park, but a change of scenery can be very important for player bonding and it helps shake up things as effectively moving away for a bit, you take the players out of their comfort zone and their environment and it can help ‘open’ them up more.
