Celtic man isn’t happy with exciting Rangers transfer deal

|

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has admitted Jordan Jones is a really good signing for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers this summer, speaking on Sky Sports earlier this week.

Lennon was a television pundit during Northern Ireland’s victory over Belarus on Sunday and Jones certainly caught his eye after an impressive performance on the left flank.

The Kilmarnock star has signed a four-year deal at Ibrox on a pre-contract basis, joining up with Gerrard’s squad this summer.

The Hoops boss is a big fan of the player and so obviously he isn’t best pleased he is heading to a direct rival.

Speaking on Sky Sports Football, Lennon said:

He’s been very, very good in Scotland over the last couple of years hence why he’s signed a pre-contract with Rangers which doesn’t please me, obviously because he’s such a good player.

He’s a full-backs nightmare because he can go both ways and he’s positive. The first thing in his mind is to take people on. To give people the width. He’s a good player, he’s a good player.

Jones has been inconsistent in a Killie shirt recently, perhaps an indication that he knows his time is up at Rugby Park more than anything.

He holds plenty of potential though and with the right coaching and management is well placed to make an impressive impact at Ibrox at Scottish Premiership level.

At the top of the game he can trouble most defences and should at least provide the squad with serious attacking depth beyond the summer, especially if Ryan Kent does not sign up for another season on loan.
