Goalkeeper Cammy Bell has been unveiled as a new signing by Ally McCoist.

The Scotland International, won his first cap against the Faroe Islands in 2010, will be registered with Rangers from September 1st.

He played 33 times for Kilmarnock last season and you’d expect him to be McCoist’s No1 between the sticks next season.

The 26 year old has signed a four year deal and told the Official Site that he was delighted to be joining his boyhood team as it was a dream come true.

‘It’s been a long time coming, it’s great just to be here at a club of this size and a club I’ve always followed as a youngster. It’s just a dream come true really. I think I’ve got enough experience, I’ve played for a few years in the SPL and I’ve got that behind me. I needed to do that before I moved on, and now is the right time for me to step on and it’s a no brainer, it didn’t take me long to make the decision.’

Bell says he has had opportunities before but he believed he was better served by staying where he was and developing further, and even now he did have another offer on the table but once he knew of Rangers’ interest he told his agent he’d already made his decision, so to not set up a meeting with the second interest party.
