At todays’ Rangers press conference, manager Steven Gerrard revealed a relatively clean bill of health for the Rangers squad, with further progress on those on the comeback trail.

Following a very encouraging substitute performance from Ryan Jack on Saturday against Ross County, including his tidy finish for a wonderful team goal, he is definitely in contention to feature tomorrow night in Edinburgh.

There was also a welcome update in regard to Kemar Roofe and Scott Arfield.

As reported on Rangers official channels, Gerrard stated, “Obviously Ryan Jack has come through the weekend all fine, we’re really pleased with his performance,”

“Kemar Roofe was probably in the squad a tad early because he had only one full day training sesssion which is why he never came on the pitch on Saturday but he has had more training and a bit more volume in his legs so he will be in the squad again tomorrow.”

“Kemar has had no problems, he is ready and looking good.”

“Scott Arfield is progressing well, he is on time and on schedule so we’re probably looking at another couple of weeks until he is hopefully back with the group.”

“Everyone else is fine and ready to go.”

The Rangers maanger was then quizzed on the chances of Arfield returning in time for the Europa League clash with Royal Antwerp.

Gerrard responded, ” Possibly. I don’t want to put too much pressure on the medical staff, they are doing a fantastic job,” as he smiled.

“Arfield is moving along really well. I think we said at the time (of his injury) that it would be a five/six week number and we are about four weeks into that, so it will depend on what his fitness levels are like in a couple of weeks time.”

“I’m hoping to have him available around that time, yes.”

Knowing Scott Arfield’s mentality and his professionalism he will be doing all that he can to accelerate his return in what would not be a surprise if he was to become available ahead of schedule.
