Rangers defender Zurab Khizanishvili and English Premiership club Blackburn Rovers have opened talks with a view to making his move to Blackburn permanent.

The Georgian is currently on loan to the Lancashire team and has made 22 appearances for them.

Blackburn chairman John Williams said: ‘We have every intention of trying to make this a permanent arrangement, We hope to do this before the end of the season. Talks have taken place.’

Zura arrived at Rangers from Dundee in 2003 but fell out with boss Alex McLeish and was shipped out on loan.
