Rangers firmly set the template moving forward, with the comprehensive victory over Hearts in midweek.

The 3-0 win was everthing that the fans have been wanting to see and more, ollowing several very good results in which performances have been lacking, usually finishing strongly after a lacklustre start.

However, that changed on Wednesday much to the delight and satisfaction of the manager who was reasoned in his assessment of today’s encounter at Ibrox against the Staggies.

There will likely not be much space to exploit in the channels in the same way that Fashion Sakala took full advantage of, in the capital and that is just one example of the different type of challenge. With some changes to the starting line-up, there will be an element of fresness to the Rangers team but it is critical that they seize the momentum created at Tynecastle this week.

The manager summed it up when he named the biggest quality that he wants to see today, “intensity out of possession“.

That was the basis for everything good that followed against Hearts, suffocating Robbie Neilson’s team in the process. Get it right today, from the start at Ibrox and it could be a long afternoon for the visitors.

Rangers will be very keen to add to the goals and with Kent, Sakala and Morelos all in strong form, the onus is very much with Beale’s team to continue as they left off.
