Kemar Roofe, the frustration continues.

It has been confirmed this afternoon that the attacker has undergone an operation which will see him out of contention until the Summer.

What more can be said about the ongoing situation around the Jamaica international. It has been an ongoing theme of his time at the club and further back in his career that he is just unable to remain for a sustained period of time.

His body condition just isn’t cut out for the demands of top level, professional football. It is difficult to come to any other conclusion and at 30 years of age it will be difficult for him to get to where he needs to be for his next step at Rangers.

This latest operation will hopefully benefit Roofe as a person for his life and health beyond football as well as aiming to get to the bottom of his chronic injury issues.

Michael Beale has spoken before about finding a solution but it will be tough to say the least.

The former Anderlecht and Leeds striker has managed just six substitute appearances this season following on from a disappointing end to the last campaign when he was struck down in the Scottish Cup semi-final win over Celtic which ruled him out of the Europa League climax against RB Leipzig and in Seville as well as the cup final victory over Hearts.

What happens next is very much up in the air. As much as Kemar Roofe is a very effective operator, there are no guarantees or expectations now when it comes to his availability.

That is a regret as much as it is a fair assessment with his Ibrox contract in place until the end of next season.
