A report has emerged from Spain this evening claiming that Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos has agreed a pre-contract deal with Sevilla.

Such a move to Andalusia would be an obvious attraction for the Colombian international who is fast approaching a career crossroads but it is becoming more likely that his future lies away from Ibrox.

Whilst he will certainly have offers coming his way, the accuracy of this report remains in doubt given the source and should be received as such.

The detail from Vamos Mi Sevilla, as above, includes:

“The attack will be one of the positions to be reinforced next summer, since it is very probable that Rafa Mir and/or Youssef En-Nesyri will leave.”

“Among the options that the sports management have considered is an opportunity at zero cost, which has already been mentioned in previous transfer windows. This is the Colombian, Alfredo Morelos from Glasgow Rangers, who ends his contract with the Scottish team this summer and has already committed to the Nervión entity.”

If there is any truth in this story or any pre-contract to follow regarding Morelos or any other current Rangers player, it is likely that it will come out sooner rather than later.

‘El Bufalo’ faces an uncertain end to the season with Antonio Colak currently favoured by Michael Beale but he does still have time to make an impact given that we assume he is still in the shop window. Along with Ryan Kent, it is far from ideal to have two such prominent players facing potential exits but the squad situation will see a few more than that number leave, as the manager has stated.
