What a difference a week makes.

This time last week, team and fans had a wobble with things getting a wee bit out of hand online.

The late draw felt like a defeat but the poor display has been put to bed thanks to the response.

Immediately, the post match interview from a raging Allan McGregor set the tone.

He called it out as ‘rubbish’ and left his team mates in no uncertain terms that they must do better.

Fast forward one week and the title train is off and running again.

Yesterday’s 1-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Ibrox was more comfortbale than the scoreline suggests, the only gripe from the game is that Rangers did not kill it off!

Ryan Jack’s stunning goal turned out to be the first and last of the game.

A guilt-edge chance when Ryan Kent squared to Joe Aribo was squandered as well as a strong penalty claim in the first-half when captain James Tavernier was barged with two hands.

At the other end, McGregor has very little to do with Kilmarnock registering zero shots on target.

They had a strong appeal for a free-kick turned down, late on, but ref Don Robertson wavwd play on.

The incident was very close to the Rangers box, but despite some wild claims online from elsewhere, the collision was clearly outside the box.

The victory means that Rangers are now just a 13 point swing away from securing a precious 55th Scottish league title but there is still work to do before the celebrations can happen.

Response

We are now into a very exciting week with the return of Europa League action on Thursday when the squad travel to Belgium to face Royal Antwerp.

The two-leg tie is winnable and Rangers should have designs to go one better than last year’s journey to the round of 16.

Whilst it is fine for the likes of McGregor and manager Steven Gerrard to speak strongly, it is all about action and results on the pitch.

That is what the team have done for the vast majority of the season and the exact response that was required and delivered yesterday.

More of the same please.
