April has arrived and with it, Rangers destiny for season 2021/22 will soon be revealed.

We knew it was coming, the fixtures have piled up, many of them exciting and now the international break has passed – the waiting is over.

Just look at how the month will unfold:

Rangers April fixtures:

Sun 3rd April – Rangers v Celtic – Premiership
Thur 7th April – Braga v Rangers – EL QF
Sun 10th April – St Mirren v Rangers – Premiership
Thur 14th April – Rangers v Braga – EL QF
Sun 17th April – Rangers v Celtic SC SF
23/24 April – Game 34 – Premiership
Thu 28 April – Potential EL SF

By the end of the month, Rangers could still be vying for three trophies with the worst case scenario unthinkable but possible in what would be a May to forget.

However, starting on Sunday, the team have the opportunity to start as they mean to go on and make a statement of intent. Seasons like this don’t come along often, especially being involved at the business end of European competition. In the form of Braga, we have a dangerous opponent but a winnable clash over the two legs as the Portuguese know from recent seasons when the Gers conquered home and away.

This Sunday’s Old Firm sets the tone for everything else to follow and it matters so much – both for the league and the two further derby clashes to follow.

The third of this mini-series and the fourth league meeting of the season will be confirmed after the St Mirren game when the working out of the split is known.

It is an exciting and nervous time, probably the biggest overall since 2008, just this time we want a different outcome than that memorable year that gave many precious memories but didn’t deliver the two prizes most sought.

This can be our time again – players, manager, coaches and the support. Let’s embrace it!
