£58m-rated superstar had high praise for one Rangers man this weekend

|

Bayern Munich superstar James Rodriguez reckons that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos could be the future of Colombian football, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

Morelos won his second cap for his country during a recent match against Japan as Colombia step up their preparations for the upcoming Copa America tournament this summer.

With the 22-year-old scoring 29 goals for Rangers this season, he is in serious contention be included in that summer squad and these recent comments from his £58m-rated teammate are unlikely to do his chances any harm either.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, Rodriguez said:

This was a new squad out there and there were many players in the team who didn’t have a lot of international experience.

Players such as Alfredo Morelos, who can be the future of football in our country. He has a lot of talent and has all the qualities needed to be a top player for us.

Alfredo is young, has had a great season and is a top striker. He was called up ahead of more experienced strikers so that tells you that our manager Carlos Queiroz rates him very highly.

Of course, he still has a lot to learn, but he seems to be improving all the time and he is going to become an important player for Colombia.

It’s clear now that the Colombians are about to invest serious time in Morelos’ development and playing alongside experienced stars such as Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao is only going to help him be a better Rangers player.

He’ll be delighted to receive such high praise from Rodriguez and hopefully his experience in Asia with his national squad will give him the confidence to have a storming end to the season.

That, of course, all starts next Sunday when we visit Celtic Park.
