‘Better than Davis’ – Loads of Rangers fans want Gerrard to take advantage of player situation

It’s going to be an interesting summer for Rangers. The Gers have had a good season, but it’s ending pretty poorly, with our wait for a trophy set to carry on. 

However, there’s no denying the growth that’s been made, and with a couple of additions this summer, we’ll surely be able to compete with Celtic more consistently.

Interestingly, murmurs about potential summer targets are already being discussed amongst Rangers fans. The latest man to be brought to the fore is Lewis Holtby of Hamburg.

A recent article from the Daily Record has discussed Holtby’s impending exit from his current team Hamburg, whom he is set to leave when his contract expires this summer, and a potential move to Ibrox. The Daily Record cite unclear reports in Germany, and so it’s fair to say that at this stage, links between the Gers and the German midfielder are tenuous, to say the least.

However, it appears as though many Rangers fans online have taken the bat and ran with it, with lots of supporters discussing Holtby over on Twitter. The German is well known, of course, likely due to his time in England with Tottenham.

Goal scoring midfielder. Something we’ve been missing since we sold Windass. Like it or not, but he scored a lot of goals for us & when Morelos isn’t scoring we hardly have anyone else chipping in. Celtic have 3 midfielders who are always looking to score, that’s the difference.

He was a smashing player when he was younger , no sure what he’s like now, feel like he’s been around for ever , a new challenge might be what he needs

He was a cracking creative midfielder with Schalke as a youngster. He unfortunately couldn’t step up to Spurs level at the time.

I reckon he would do fantastically in our team.
