I like the way the Rangers squad is looking at the moment and I certainly like the way that it looks set to evolve.

For a while we have threatened to put together a decent side but it just hasn’t clicked at the right moments.

Now, though, we are looking in good shape with more to come in the summer from their respective loan deals – including Greg Doherty.

Indeed, when he returns in the summer he has full intentions of playing for Rangers and competing with Steven Davis for a midfield role.

Telling PA Sport via BT Sport, Doherty revealed how Davis was his boyhood hero but also how he’ll want to try and beat him to get into the side.

It’ll certainly be a case of youth v experience there, then, and Steven Gerrard will have to see who deserves to play, if either, of the two.

Who can you see starting the new season, though? Personally, I see it being Davis but Doherty has done well on loan.

Let me know in the poll…
