Earlier in the week I covered our second string’s victory over Motherwell in the reserve league and Rangers starlet Dapo Mebude obviously helped himself to a second-half hat-trick on the day and for any fans who don’t follow the club at that level, the publicity he got for his three goals across the week have certainly brought his name to a wider audience.

The side took a 6-2 victory on the day and the 17-year-old more than took his opportunity to shine on the day and given the fact he’s playing above his age level, that just shows how highly rated he actually is by our Academy coaches.
With manager Steven Gerrard certainly not against leaning on our youth, whilst it’d be a stretch to assume fans will see him take to the Ibrox pitch this season, undoubtedly if he continues developing as he appears to be a the moment, next season we could certainly see him come into play as a substitute in Cup competitions as we give him a taste of senior football to drive and motivate him on further.
well done Dapo and the whole team keep it up lads your day will come ????⚪????

Some player this boy, hope we keep a hold of him and not let him go like we did Billy Gilmour, major talent!

Mebude has been called into the Scotland Under 18 squad and he’s joined by Josh McPake and Nathan Paterson for their next action.
