Rangers returned to winning ways on Saturday after a difficult week, beating St Mirren 2-0 away from home in the Scottish Premiership.

Having lost to Aberdeen and drawn against Kilmarnock mid-week, there was definite pressure on this afternoon’s short trip to Paisley and it showed in the performance, which was lacklustre for the majority of the 90 minutes.

The Gers were made to work hard for the three points and didn’t make the breakthrough until the 80th minute when Daniel Candeias curled one in from 20 yards. Alfredo Morelos rounded off the scoring late on to provide Steven Gerrard’s side with the crucial win.

The win was very welcome but it was another underwhelming display, with many fans scratching their heads at some of the performances, not least the one from midfielder Scott Arfield.

The summer signing failed to get to grips with the game, especially for the first half, with many now calling on Gerrard to look at other options in the middle of the park.

These supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his performance…
