Former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso has heaped praise on Steven Gerrard as a manager and says he expects the Gers to keep improving – with the quotes coming from the Daily Record.

The Gers have been excellent so far this season under the former Liverpool manager and it is clear that his determination as a player has translated into his approach in the dugout.

And, for Alonso, the Gers are going to keep getting better under him with him saying:

“There was not a player he didn’t help at Liverpool.

“Not just in the first team but the youngsters as well. For such a big talent nothing was beneath him and I know he will still be that way as a coach.

“He wants to teach, he is always there to have an honest conversation, that is why Rangers will continue to improve under his guidance.”

Certainly, it’s great to see people like Alonso talking about the club and that is the effect Gerrard has had on the Gers in the last year or so.

This season, he needs to win a trophy ideally and at the moment he is on course to win the one we all want, though it is still early days and it is clear that it’s going to be a very close, tough title race.
