Sky Sports is reporting Reece Oxford is at the ‘advanced stage’ in negotiations to complete a loan move to Ibrox.

Rangers could be set to secure another loan signing from a Premier League club with West Ham’s highly rate Oxford arriving until the end of the season according to Sky Sports and their sources.

Oxford signed a new long-term contract with West Ham – ending speculation he could leave the Hammers having been linked with the likes of Manchester United – last month that will keep him at the London Stadium until 2021 but in the short-term Rangers could benefit from his services?

Having made his breakthrough season last term when become West Ham’s youngest ever first team player Oxford hasn’t been involved as much this season. The England U20 international has been limited to just two appearances for Slaven Bilic this season.

An ankle injury has also played a part in Oxford’s limited chances but the central defender – who can also play as a defensive midfielder – is now fully fit and poised to become Rangers’ third loan signing of the January transfer window.

17 year old Oxford – assuming this deal is confirmed as claimed – would follow the loan arrival of Jon Toral from Arsenal and Emerson Hyndman from Bournemouth.
