Rangers’ Scottish Championship season continued with a late win at Ibrox against Queen of the South on Saturday.
The perfect Rangers record, which has seen Lyle put the visitors ahead, looked to be ending in a draw with Holt drawing Gers level and on for a point, however a last gasp winner from Waghorn, after he had missed a penalty, retained the 100% record with a two-one win.

It was a good start from Rangers with McKay causing problems but it was Miller that had the best chance, up to that point, but he couldn’t hit the target from 10-yards with Queen of the South going close through Harris.

Waghorn forced the first save out of Thomson of the afternoon, and he would make a few, when he made a good save to deny the Rangers striker with Lyle (35) then stunning Ibrox when he put Queen of the South ahead shortly before half time.
A Conroy corner was headed on by Higgins to leave Lyle with only Foderingham to beat from six-yards, which he did.
The second half saw Rangers putting on the pressure with a Tavernier freekick going close before Thomson again made a fine save with him denying Waghorn once more but within 10-minites of the second half restarting Holt (53) did have Rangers level from a narrow angle, finishing into the corner from a Tavernier pass with Thomson finally beaten!
McKay could have quickly got Rangers ahead but his finish was poor from a Miller cross.
Rangers getting a winner looked like it was more likely, but didn’t seem as if it would come with Waghorn curling an effort just wide with Holt having another effort, as he sought a second goal of the afternoon, deflected wide.
A chance to win it came when Waghorn had a penalty, awarded for a foul on Halliday with only two-minutes to play, but Queen of the South ‘keeper Thomson saved this to see him miss from the spot for the first time as a Rangers player.
Waghorn (90) was still able to head home a winner at the near post from a Oduwa cross to win it with his 15th-goal of the season and make it 10 wins in a row for Rangers, which is quite amazing, the headed winner was the first goal the Gers have scored with a header since Warburton was appointed!
