The 2016-17 season continues with the latest round of games as 2016 comes to an end. Among this upcoming schedule is one for Rangers against Celtic at Ibrox on Saturday with it having a 12:15pm kick-off.

Previous results

Tuesday 27th December 2016 – Scottish Premiership
Aberdeen 2-1 Hamilton Academical 15:00
Heart of Midlothian 4-0 Kilmarnock 19:45

Wednesday 28th December 2016 – Scottish Premiership
Celtic 2-0 Ross County 19:45
Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1-2 Motherwell 19:45
Partick Thistle 2-0 Dundee 19:45
St Johnstone 1-1 Rangers 19:45

Rangers returned to the Premiership aiming for a 55th title but I think we’ll all accept this isn’t going to happen this season! Celtic would have to literally give this away now.

I can’t stress enough that second best isn’t what Rangers go for but Mark Warburton will be charged with securing 2nd place. Those chances are improved though if we can see of Old Firm rivals Celtic – ending their long winning run – on New Years Eve.

Should we claim the points not only would it avenge that 5-1 thrashing in September it would reduce the gap to 13 points and keep 3rd placed Aberdeen at arms length. However, defeat and we’ll be almost 20 points adrift heading into 2017.

What will happen in this one though? Cast your vote so we know if you think it’ll be all smiles or disappointment for the Gers come the full time whistle.

We can say it goes without saying the expectation; most definitely the hope at least, will be for a positive result. But will this happen?

Ahead of the game we’re looking for your views on what way you think it will go, which requires you to vote in the latest poll in one of the options you’re given.
