Mark Warburton is expected to add a midfielder to the squad in January and this has seen former Everton and England international Leon Osman linked with a New Year move to Rangers.

With the veteran midfielder presently without a club – having left Everton after 16 seasons last summer – he would come to Ibrox without a transfer fee involved.

The Scottish Sun has reported an interest from Rangers boss Warburton in adding 35 year old Osman to his squad with it claimed talks are planned in the coming days.

Osman has been without a club since he left Everton in the summer – he had spent his entire career at Goodison Park and had played alongside Rangers assistant David Weir at the Toffees – making over 450 appearances and scoring more than 50 goals.

Having spent some time out of the game the midfielder is apparently ready to return and this will see him pitch up at Ibrox.
