Late yesterday afternoon Rangers confirmed the arrival of USA international Emerson Hyndman on a loan spell from Premier League side Bournemouth.

The 20 year old comes into us until the end of the current campaign and he made the move to Eddie Howe’s side over the summer.

With three appearances for them so far this campaign, two of those came in League Cup clashes whilst his third was last weekend in their FA Cup loss to Millwall.

He moved to Bournemouth last summer following the expiry of his contract with Championship side Fulham.

In his short career so far his boasts 21 starting appearances with a further ten from the bench and he’s scored once. On the international front he received his USA Under 17 call up in 2012 and two years later he made his senior squad debut against Czech Republic. So far he has three caps for the senior side with the last coming in May.

Speaking to the Official Site after completing his move, Hyndman said that with Bournemouth’s style and philosophy attracting him to them initially, seeing similar at Rangers with Mark Warburton just made sense when a loan spell was an option.

‘I think the two clubs have similar styles which makes it an easy transition and all the boys have helped me out on my first day. The philosophy here is the same as Bournemouth in the way that they like to press but when they have the ball they like to keep it in attack. In that way it is very similar which will hopefully make my transition a lot easier.’

Hyndman went on to say that Eddie Howe was fully on board with the move owing to the similarities between him and Warburton on how the game should be played.

‘I got Eddie Howe`s input before I signed, he had no problems or worries with me coming here at all because he fully believes the manager here is very good and good with young players as well so he had no problems with handing me over to him. There were a lot of reasons I wanted to sign for Rangers, it is a massive club, they are fighting for Europe and there are good players here. I think it is a good opportunity for me to play in, not just a good environment, but in front of 50,000 fans at home which is absolutely unbelievable. That is why I chose to come here. That is part of the reason my manager back at Bournemouth thought here would be a really good choice, to be exposed to that at my age is always a good thing.’

As for his hopes whilst he’s with us, added.

‘What I want to do here is be a good player for Rangers and help Rangers but to get all that experience with it is a bonus and just helps me. Stadiums in the Premier League are always full, no matter what game it is there are always big crowds and that provides a different kind of environment. The fact the fan base here is so big and you get tons of away fans every game, which is really cool to see and I am looking forward to playing for them.’
