Who doesn’t love an Old Firm transfer tug-of-war story?

This summer we’ve seen Bright Osayi-Samuel and Siriki Dembele linked with either side of Glasgow but a new name has emerged and it’s one that is sure to cause more than a little bit of excitement.

Thomas Henry could follow Fashion Sakala and Ianis Hagi in making the move from Belgian football to Glasgow with the OH Leuven striker attracting interest from Rangers, according to Football Insider.

The 26-year old has been in impressive form over the last couple of seasons scoring 45 goals and creating 12 assists in his 78 appearances, figures that have seen his value rated in the region of £7million which, according to The Scottish Sun, is the figure that Celtic are tracking the 6ft 4inch tall target man at.

Both clubs appear to be well stocked for strikers at this moment in time so you would expect any moves to be dependent on the possible departures of Alfredo Morelos and Odsonne Edouard, the latter looking more likely to leave at the moment given his contract status and his blatant lack of effort when he is on the park, however, it would seem strange for them to shell out such a big fee on a player who doesn’t seem to fit new coach, Ange Postecoglou’s philosophy.

Henry’s style of play looks more suited to replacing El Bufalo given his physicality but it’s interesting to note the similarities in output between him and Sakala, once again, highlighting just how good a bit of business it was getting the Zambian forward in on a free transfer, as analysed by Patrick Caskie of This is Ibrox.

The Scottish press look pretty convinced that Henry is the man to replace Edouard despite the Football Insider report making no reference of our city rivals, with clubs in Ligue 1, Serie A and the Premier League all said to be keeping an eye on him, it might not be each other that we have to worry about though.
