David Templeton has said that winning the Scottish Cup this season will be a huge ask for Rangers given the opposition still left in the competition, but everything in life that’s worthwhile doesn’t come easy…so why not just go for it.

The winger played his part in the four nil victory over Dunfermline in the last round of the Cup, and now we’re set to face Albion Rovers at Ibrox in the next round. Of course, should Rangers progress through to the semi finals in April, we will also have home advantage then as well, so it’s all to play for and all to aim for in Templeton’s mind.

Speaking to the Official Site he explained, especially following Aberdeen dumping Celtic out which has led some to announce us as favourites.

‘The competition is really wide open with Celtic being out. They were the holders but Aberdeen, who look really strong this season, knocked them out. It will be a hard competition to win but every one of the boys in our dressing room came here to win cups and leagues. We’re looking to get Rangers back to where they should be and that’s getting to finals and claiming titles.’

Templeton goes on to say that at the moment, the level we are at is irrelevant because of everything that has happened, but what matters is winning games, and being successful, because the only aim is moving Rangers back in the right direction and on the pitch that is what is happening, even if at points it’s not as comfortable as we’d like or as pretty.

Adding all that matters when we face Albion Rovers is securing progression through to the next round and then we will see who we get, and we can then see where we go in that game.

One at a time, and give each match the best shot possible – can’t ask for any more than that.
