The latest takeover speculation this morning brings nothing new to the table.

Radio Clyde reported on their morning sports-desk that a consortium consisting of two South Lanarkshire businessman and a South African based millionaire (more than likely Dave King) will launch a £40 million takeover of the club.

It appears that the asking price Sir David Murray is looking for will be scant, which is only fair given the mess he has left the club in, the biggest issue will be the debt repayments to Lloyds HBoS.

It appears that Dave King is haggling to make a significant one-off payment to remove the debt completely – an amount which doesn’t quite equate to the total debt we have with the bank. A lot of people may think that the bank are quite right to stand their ground however, the Lloyds Banking group are writing down debt to as low as 25p in the £1 in some cases, so King is perfectly within his rights to try and negotiate the payment he makes down.
