Rangers Joe Aribo has been confirmed as the SPFL Premiership ‘star man’ in the team of the week.

The Nigerian international followed up on a bright performance and a goal in the victory over Royal Antwerp last Thursday by stealing the show at Ibrox on Sunday against Dundee United.

His work on the ball was very impressive in a game that the London-born 24-year old clearly stood out.

Aribo was pivotal for the Gers opener when his effort was turned in by Ianis Hagi.

There was no doubt about the third goal of the game though.

The ex-Charlton man played a one-two with Alfredo Morelos before unleashing a thunderbolt strike high into the far corner of the net.

Craig Fowler of A View From The Terrace on BBC Scotland picked the team on behalf of the SPFL.

He stated of the Rangers man:

“A top-class performance from the midfielder was the inspiration behind Rangers’ 4-1 victory over Dundee United on Sunday as Steven Gerrard’s men moved closer to the title.”

“The Nigerian international not only dazzled with his play on the ball, he also scored an excellent goal and is this week’s star man.”
