Manager Mark Warburton has said that Rangers were missing a spark in the recent game against Livingston.

Speaking to the Official Site in his post game press conference following the one all draw, Warburton admitted he was left disappointed at full time as he knows the team is capable of a lot more than they showed on the day – especially our play in the final third of the pitch.

‘I didn`t think we showed real quality in the second half. We huffed and puffed a bit but didn`t really create enough clear cut chances. So first half was good, we started off really well and got the goal. We needed to come out and be really dominant and they scored and we were scrappy, a bit loose in possession. Yes, we had lots of the ball but didn`t really hurt them enough as we should have done. We had a few chances, of course we did, and we had a lot of the ball but were we clinical enough? Maybe not. Did we show enough quality in the final third, enough guile? I don`t think we did today. Other games we have shown a lot of quality and not got our rewards. Today, we needed to be a little bit better in that final third.’

Warburton went on to add that fans could see the reaction of the players as they walked off for proof that everybody had been disappointed with the result.

‘It does and they set their standards very high. They felt they should have won the game but the fact is we didn`t, and you saw the reaction from the opponent. Credit to them, they worked really hard and got men behind the ball, they showed good quality. So all credit to them, we just lacked a bit of spark today.’

With Jason Holt getting the 22nd minute opener for us, he was also interviewed after the match and he admitted that his goal means nothing as it didn’t result in three points for us.

‘The result has taken a little bit of a shine off scoring today though. It was nice to get a goal but the overall feeling is disappointment because the team comes first and we weren`t able to get the win. I`m just trying to get myself in the box as much as possible and try and get on the end of chances. In the position that I play I should be scoring goals from there because of the amount of times I get forward and it something I will always look to have in my game. Our reaction shows how much it means to us. It`s the high demands that we`ve got, we want to win every game no matter who we play and when you don`t get the three points it hurts.’

With our draw and Hibernian’s win meaning they draw level on points at the top of the table, Holt was quick to say it changes nothing from our perspective as there are plenty of games left to play yet.

Especially as we have a game in hand on them.

‘It doesn`t change anything for us; we concentrate on ourselves and go back to the basics of trying to get the wins. That has been the thing for us right since the start of the season and that won`t change. It is just disappointing not to get the win, I think when we were on top we had to take the chances we could and we didn`t do that.’
