Sky Sports pundit Davie Provan believes that Steven Gerrard could see the benefits of new fund-raising at the club, giving him even more resources to play with in the transfer market.

The Gers have already made a massive amount of signings in the transfer window so far this summer, completely transforming what was a failed squad under Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty.

Could the club be set to hand even more cash over the recruitment team? Former Hoops star Provan thinks so.

Writing in his column The Scottish Sun, Provan said:

If Dave King can sort out his spat with the Takeover Panel, a £12million share issue would give Gerrard even more scope to improve his squad.

So far you can’t argue with Mark Allen’s judgement of the transfer market.

In the meantime, Rodgers must be scratching his head. Despite delivering a double Treble he’s struggling to get proper money to improve his squad. Meanwhile, the rookie across town is getting all he asks for.

They are interesting comments, but time will tell what comes of the latest call for a share-issue.

Nothing has been finalised when it comes to that off-the-field development and it’s fund-raising that could be marked for running other aspects of the club.

Most Rangers fans are happy with the recruitment so far under Steven Gerrard, with only one or two more needed to really challenge for major honours in Scottish football this season.

Is the transfer push a sign of things to come?
