Should Smith drop McGregor?

Whether he is fit to play tomorrow or not, after his attack last week, should Allan McGregor be allowed to play against Celtic on Sunday?

There is no doubt that McGregor is a world class goalkeeper, but I have my doubts as to whether or not his head will be in the game if he starts tomorrow.

McGregor is on the front pages of the newspapers more than he is on the back of them these days, and Walter Smith has quite rightly came out and told him he needs to get his private life sorted out. He badly needs to change his lifestyle because sooner or later it is going to end up costing him his career.

I am pretty sure that McGregor will play tomorrow. The pictures of him in training which have appeared in newspapers show that the bruising in his eyes has went down considerably. On Thursday he was pictured out and about, but his eye was still slightly closed. However, yesterday’s photo show that he is looking much better.

As I have said, I am sure he will play, but personnally speaking I think he will be a liability. I think it’s time to bring Neil Alexander in. We know we can rely on him and he is a more than capable goalkeeper, a safe pair of hands.

McGregor should be told to sort his life out, and be dropped to bench until he does so. Yesterday he was taken to Stewart Street police station in Glasgow to be questioned over inconsistencies about the story he gave to the police. It has been alleged that he had been in lap dancing club Seventh Heaven.

Well, it’s my opinion that he should be dropped. But what do you think? Have your say on the forums or leave a message below.
