Serie A and world football giants, AC Milan, are the latest club to be linked with a move for Alfredo Morelos as the Colombian international striker continues to attract attention from across the continent.

The seven-times champions of Europe, according to Football Insider, have been in contact with Rangers regarding the forward’s availability and price-tag and they will no doubt be told the same as every other club that has picked up the phone to Ross Wilson or Steven Gerrard – “£20million gets you a seat at the negotiating table”.

Morelos’s stunning form in the Europa League last season is sure to have seen his profile land on the desk of many recruitment teams for in depth analysis and despite having his “head turned” by recent interest from Lille – bids of over £13m and £16m were said to have been rejected by Rangers – he has two assists and two goals in his three domestic appearances this term.

The striker clearly has a good working relationship with Gerrard and a recent interview in his homeland confirmed that – until he has been told that he can go – he is happy at Ibrox and fully focussed on the job in hand.

Would AC Milan be a step up for Morelos?

Rangers have been given the perfect opportunity to apply early pressure on Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premiership title and wins in their next two games against Livingston and Kilmarnock would see them sit 11 points clear of the fiercest rivals, if Morelos can continue his start to the season, there are few that would bet against them reaching this tally – if he is still at the club.

Milan represents a step up in level in terms of the league that they play in and are a massive club on the footballing map, should they offer what Rangers have long said they value their talisman at, it could well be the end of striker’s time at Ibrox.
