Serie A 25-year-old linked with January move to Rangers

|

Speculation is rife that Lazio midfielder Ravel Morrison could be on the verge of a move to Rangers, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The paper say that he has recently followed multiple Rangers related accounts on Instagram, including the official club page, manager Steven Gerrard and a multitude of first-team squad members.

It wouldn’t the first time that activity on the social media was a signal that players were on the brink of an Ibrox switch and the report states the whole affair has got Rangers fans rather excited.

Morrison joined Serie A side Lazio in 2015 but is firmly on the fringes of the squad, having not played for the club for close to three years.

Since then he’s had loan spells at Queen Park Rangers and Mexican side Atlas, who he played 25 times for last season, scoring three goals from midfielder.

Once one of the highest-rated prospects in English football, his potential was never fully realised but could Gerrard help give him the confidence to fulfil his early promise and become the creative midfielder that we are crying out for?

There are risks involved in making a move for the former Manchester United man, especially with well-documented off the pitch personal and legal problems.

However, if we could get him playing, a budget move for the 25-year-old may not be the worst idea.
