Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has revealed was snubbed by an SPFL match delegate in the wake of Sunday’s match away to Dundee at Dens Park.

The Gers were on the receiving end of another poor decision by referees and linesmen, with Kyle Lafferty’s goal chalked off despite the Northern Ireland international looking onside.

Gerrard claims that SPFL delegate Jim Neil asked him after the match whether he was happy with the officiating, but before the Gers boss could answer, Neil walked off.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, Gerrard said of the situation:

The goal looked okay to me, good to me.

The official delegate has asked me if I had anything to say about the officials, but before I could open my mouth he walked past me and left.

I can’t say any more or I would get into trouble.

I’d have asked him what do you think of our second goal? And I’d have liked an answer.

The manager was left fuming by not just that decision but the performance of his Rangers players and knows lots of hard work is ahead.

The failings of the current Gers squad will be hard to overcome, but it’s made even harder by the performance of Scottish referees this season, who have been a disgrace up and down the league.

The communication between the clubs, the SFA and the SPFL has also been abysmal so it’s not encouraging to hear that Gerrard was blanked at Dens Park yesterday.
