With the SFA disciplinary hearing set for today, we should expect to hear of the outcome very soon.

Rangers will be looking on closely with a ban looming for first-teamers such as Nathan Patterson, Bongani Zungu and Calvin Bassey.

This is due to the much publicised covid-breach story that broke, back in February.

The players have already been reprimanded in house at Ibrox, but now a further decision awaits following the Scottish FA hearing.

With the the meeting scheduled for today, no other information has been provided up to now.

With Scotland set to face Austria at Hampden tonight, the news could be filtered out during the game with an online announcement.

It could be left until tomorrow for release.

Impact

Rangers will await the outcome knowing that a lengthy ban will effectively end the season for some, with only five Premiership games and up to five Scottish Cup ties remaining.

Of particular resonance, is the right-back situation at Ibrox.

With Captain James Tavernier still making inroads to his injury comeback and doubts over Ryan Jack, a ban for Nathan Patterson would leave manager Steven Gerrard with only Leon Balogun to consider.

Once the outcome is known, it will provide a basis for Gerrard to manage his squad for the rest of the season to make an assault on the Scottish Cup as well as completing a full Premiership season unbeaten.
