“Saving Him For This” “We Were Resting” – These Rangers Fans Have An Interesting Theory About Sunday’s Missing Man

|

Rangers attacker Greg Stewart found himself left on the substitutes bench as we disappointingly lost to Celtic in the Scottish League Cup Final last weekend, but fans renewed acquaintances with him as he was on Under 23 duty for Graeme Murty on Tuesday.

Following his permanent switch as a free agent from Birmingham City last summer, the 29-year-old has been involved in seven goals in his 14 matches so far, and there is a line of thought that would suggest he would’ve been a better placed substitute than 23-year-old Brandon Barker in the game given his experience, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

In any event, whether he was dropped for a reason or simply given the 45 minute runout to keep his sharpness up, a number of Rangers fans saw the funny side of his inclusion as they reacted to the team sheet on social media.

Let’s see if he’s involved later today?
