Sands for Rangers…
The latest transfer speculation has emerged today linking the Scottish champions with a move for New York City’s homegrown international, James Sands.
Although only 21, Sands is an established part of Ronny Deila’s NYC side, having made his debut at the age of 17 and was an integral part of the team that won this season’s MLS Cup, culminating in the penalty shoot-out win over Portland Timbers earlier this month.
Sands operates primarily as a central defender but is deemed to be an effective operator at right-back as well as in midfield, a common trait for ‘typically athletic’ American footballers.

The above quote was taken from a feature on Fansided one year ago, at that point the player was already being touted for a move to Europe, inclusive of a glowing recommendation from former Parkhead manager, Deila.
James Sands is drawing interest from Scottish champions Rangers.
The 21 year old had an excellent season in the heart of the NYCFC midfield and defense.
Sands has made 7 appearances for the USMNT since he earned his first call up in July 2021.

Online sources inclusing TuttoMercato and Ekrem Konur have indicated that a loan to buy deal has been discussed, with transfer activity expected at Ibrox next month.
