Sacramento Rep 1-2 Rangers

Another game on our tour Stateside, and Rangers finally got into their grove as they took a two one victory over Sacramento Republic.

It was far from an easy game, as the hosts took the lead in injury time at the end of the first half when Carlos Martinez shocked us with a curled effort from 20 yards that left goalkeeper Cammy Bell with no chance.

I would imagine an honest half time team talk helped, as Rangers came out bright and on the front foot looking to get back into the game, and we managed just that from a corner sent in by Lewis Macleod, when second half substitute Darren McGregor found the net three minutes after the restart.

Having replaced Bilel Mohsni at the break, it was his first goal for the club, and then fellow substitute Ian Black then put some smiles on people’s faces in the dying seconds of the game to secure the victory.
