Claudio Marchisio is a footballer I didn’t expect to be writing about much this month but at the moment it seems as though the player and his link to Rangers is not going away.
The Gers, of course, have a decent history of Italian players coming to the club and doing well – Rino Gattuso being my personal favourite.
Of course, in recent years the ability to have such players come to the club has been diminished but it looks as though the capability to pull off such deals is returning to Ibrox.
Indeed, as per Italian journalist Matteo Pedrosi on Twitter, the midfielder is yet to decide whether he wants to join us, Flamengo or Monaco, with him a free agent after leaving Russian side Zenit:
#Rangers, #Flamengo e #Monaco i tre club che hanno preso informazioni per Claudio #Marchisio, attualmente svincolato, dopo l'esperienza in Russia allo Zenit. L'ex Juventus ha rifiutato le offerte di #Brescia e #JiangsuSuning. #calciomercato #svincolati

It would certainly be exciting to see him run out at Ibrox but I do wonder whether or not it would be a risk financially.
Perhaps this is better off as just a pipe dream.
