As reported by the Athletic, Krasnodar came in with a late bid towards the transfer window that could have seen them take away Ryan Kent from under our noses as we looked to complete a deal.
The Gers have been excellent in recent transfer windows with several signings proving big hits – we’ll try to ignore the likes of Eros Grezda coming in.
Indeed, signing Kent finished off a very promising summer window but it appears as though it could have been very different with the Russian side apparently making a £5m bid for the winger.
Liverpool clearly were intent on getting rid of him on only a permanent deal and once that stance was made clear it looked as though the Gers were going to miss out on him.
However, the winger eventually signed as we went in with a late permanent bid and I think once we had done that Kent probably had his mind made up for him.
