Despite the current suffering endured from the coronavirus pandemic clubs in England are rumoured to be interested in on-form Rangers winger Jamie Murphy.

According to Football Insider, the 30-year-old‘s stunning form on loan at Burton Albion – seven goals and two assists in ten appearances – has attracted attention from “multiple English clubs”.

Having impressed in English football before with Sheffield United and Brighton and Hove Albion, Murphy has shown an impressive return to form after his first run of games since suffering his anterior cruciate ligament injury against Kilmarnock at the beginning of the 2018 season.

The forward was linked with a loan move in August and Steven Gerrard was keen to get him some much needed minutes of competitive action but Murphy’s decision to stay and fight for his place backfired with him only making two appearances in the first half of the season before heading to Nigel Clough’s side.

Rangers have struggled for creativity and goals and despite the perceived drop in standard to League 1, the lifelong Gers fan could’ve provided a better option to the largely ineffective Brandon Barker and Sheyi Ojo, who’s form disappeared after his wonder goal against Feyenoord in September – his last for the club.

Murphy is in the bizarre situation of not being wanted by his club despite having produced excellent numbers before his injury and now out on loan to prove his fitness, if he returns to pre-season training – whenever that is – and is deemed surplus to requirements, there will certainly be no shortage of offers for the Scotland international.
