Mark Warburton has shown he’s more than happy to bring talent from England to Scotland as a number of players have followed him already, with these players up and coming talent at times. Another who you would think falls into that category is Liam Kelly and he’s being linked with Rangers in the January sales when the Gers boss is expected to sign a player or two.

We know a midfielder arrival is on the list for Warburton in the New Year, which would see Reading’s Kelly fit the bill. He’s become another linked with a January move to Ibrox according to Get Reading.

Kelly has come through the academy set up at Reading, as we also know Warburton and those working around him and scouting players do have an ear close to the ground with young talent coming through the ranks at clubs in the English game. He’s been involved under Jaap Stam at the Madejski Stadium this season but his contract will also expire next summer.

Reading are thought to be keen on keeping the 20-year-old but Warburton could ‘swoop’ for the Republic of Ireland U21 international in the coming weeks looking to make the most of his contract situation at the Championship club, where he’s said to be highly rated.
