Rangers are said to be interested in signing Maritimo midfielder Josip Vukovic, as reported by The Daily Record.
The paper quote foreign reports that reckon the 27-year-old is available for just £800,000 in the upcoming transfer window, with Steven Gerrard’s Gers said to have already made contact about potentially signing him.
Other clubs such as Lazio and Sassuolo are interested too, so it will be something of a battle to convince him his future lies in Glasgow.
He’s made 26 appearances for the Portuguese top-flight club this season and has experience of playing in Croatia and Ukraine.
Rangers are currently well stocked in the midfield department right now after the arrivals of Steven Davis and Glen Kamara, but with the future of players like Graham Dorrans in doubt and Lassana Coulibaly heading back to his parent club, then there may be space for one more over the next few months.
Definitely one to watch as we approach the transfer window opening.
