Giovanni van Bronckhorst looks like he is going to be given the chance to turn around Rangers current form, however, this hasn’t stopped fans from discussing who they would want to replace the Dutchman should he leave, or be asked to leave.

The media and pundits have also been discussing the possibility of a change with the usual suspects suggesting that Rangers “can’t afford” to sack Gio, record revenues and a sizeable profit should put that theory to bed, however, we all know what they are like.

One name that has been mentioned as a possible option is Sean Dyche, the former Burnley manager who will not be short of offers if teams at the foot of the Premier League decide to make a change ahead of a five-week break and an impending transfer window.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, journalist Dean Jones reckons that Rangers could do a lot worse than Dyche and that his Premier League experience would stand him in good stead at Ibrox:

“There’s absolutely no reason why he wouldn’t be able to do that in the Scottish Premiership too.

“I can see why some fans might think that is a good way forward and I’d be really interested to see it.”

There are two sides to Sean Dyche. The one that got Burnley promoted playing aggressive, attacking football, and then the one that kept his side up in the Premier League despite having the lowest wage bill and transfer spend by some distance.

The truth is, there is no way of knowing how he would adapt to playing against a low block most weeks because he has never had to set up a team to beat one – not that he wouldn’t get used to it pretty quickly if he did come up the road.
