Rangers will face Celtic in the semi-final of this season’s Scottish Cup with the game to be played on the weekend of 16-17 April.

The draw was made following the conclusion of the game at Tannadice on Monday night as the last four found out their fate.

It means three Old Firm derbies are almost guaranteed within the space of a month given the strong chance of the final meeting of the season coming very soon after the split.

Rangers will be out to secure a first Scottish Cup final appearance since 2016 with an overall drought since the trophy came back to Ibrox stretching back to 2009 and the 1-0 win over Falkirk.

The stakes are getting higher across all three remaining competitions for Rangers with the big games coming thick and fast. If the Gers get the job done on Thursday in Belgrade, an action packed April is in store.

Rangers April schedule as it stands:

3rd – Celtic (H)
7th – Potential Europa League QF
10th – St Mirren (A)
14th – Potential Europa League QF
16/17th – Celtic – SC SF
23rd/24th – Game 34
30th/1st May – Game 35
