Rangers royal blue home shirt will be worn in the Europa League tonight in Prague – it will be the same, but different.

As has been the case in recent seasons, different branding is displayed across the shirt depending on the location of the game.

Due to particular gambling advertising laws in the Czech Republic, the logo of the Rangers Charity Foundation will be worn on the shirt’s in tonight’s Group A encounter.

It has previously been worn by the team in Europe.

VitalRangers understands that it is a licensing issue rather than an outright ban on gambling advertising that has brought about the change.

The usual procedure as part of the new title sponsorship agreement is for Unibet to be the primary branding used in European competition.

This is in place of 32Red which is the title brand for domestic games as the latter is more prevalent in the UK wheras Unibet is the dominant brand on the continent for parent company, the Kindred Group.

Elsewhere tonight in Group A, Lyon host Brondby with the French side strong favourites to stretch their lead at the top with a win.

That would move them on to six points and is arguably the most favourable result for Rangers who of course have to take care of their own business.

Brondby played out a 0-0 draw with Sparta on Matchday 1.
