In Europe, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team is far from boring but emphatic home victories are starting to become the norm; Sparta Prague, Red Star Belgrade, RB Leipzig, Braga and now USG have all succumbed to a style of football that I’ve certainly never seen in my lifetime, with Borussia Dortmund also leaving Ibrox bloodied, bruised and eliminated.
We have a genuine continental reputation and nobody will want to draw us in any competition. We might not have the resources of even the top Portuguese or Dutch sides but we can more than compete with them on the park and we will soon be able to test ourselves against one of the best when PSV Eindhoven come to Glasgow next week.
