I don’t think that this summer will see the massive overhaul that many Rangers fans are expecting. When you look at the current squad and add Ridvan Yilmaz, Tom Lawrence and Kemar Roofe, it isn’t far away from what Michael Beale will be looking for.

Also, throughout the January transfer window he was more than open about what positions he was looking to address with only one in particular not being strengthened, as reported a few days ago by The Rangers Review:

“I would like us to add a midfielder to the squad that’s powerful and can run. I would like to have another centre-half and we will be looking at the goalkeeper situation in the summer. We will be looking for another number nine.

“Are we going to get all that done in the next 48 hours? There’s more time in the summer. It’s got to be the right players but nobody wants to strengthen this squad more than Ross, the board and myself. It’s in our interest to build a stronger Rangers than we have right now.”

We got the midfielder in Nicolas Raskin, goalkeeper and striker will be to replace first choice players Allan McGregor and Alfredo Morelos who are both out of contract but it was a surprise not to see a centre-half added on deadline day.

Beale spoke before though about getting the right player and that he would rather wait until the summer rather than rush someone else through now which points firmly in the direction of Jake Cooper despite the Gers boss saying the towering stopper was “not on my radar“.

Cooper on a free, Josh Maja on a free and Nikita Haikin on a free – that’s centre-half, striker and goalkeeper all sorted without having to pay a fee, I don’t see how Ross Wilson makes things so difficult for himself….
